Welcome to all of our new, interested and returning families, this year promises to be an exciting one for Camperdown Little Athletics, with new Friday night club uniforms thanks to our local sponsors. We have also been successful in gaining some important Grants that will see our club-room and surrounds look a little different! In the off season we have upgraded our rooms, regenerated our grass and purchased some new equipment to make the lives of not only our most important members, (The Athletes) but our valuable helpers and parent supports. Throughout the coming season we will be promoting our Local Sponsors each week via our Social Media to thank them for their generous contributions to our new uniforms. We would like to encourage our centre families to support the business’ who support us where possible as without them, or upgrades simply would not be possible.

For new families, Little Athletics Victoria offer a trialing membership that offers 2 weeks of centre competition free of charge. (Trialing membership offers insurance coverage, but not a club hire top.) For those parents wishing to try out Little Aths to see if it is a good fit for your family, please click on the trialing link on our website!

Please note that after 2 weeks you will need to become a financial member to continue competing at our centre, and only when an athlete becomes fully financial, will you receive both a club top and also points for our end of year presentation awards.

For returning families, things will look a little different this year, families will be asked to sign a hire agreement for our Club tops, these will be compulsory to be worn on Friday nights and also at Monday night training. We value our Little Athletes and we want them all to have an equal opportunity to wear a uniform that we (the Committee) have worked hard to develop, and we feel very proud to have achieved a new uniform that will see our club look its very best!

In the upcoming season we will see Region Relays take place in the first 6 weeks, so any interested families are encourage to get in touch with Kristy, Sarah or Krystal if your child is interested in being a part of our teams, we do however wish to ask that if families commit to region teams that they are also aware that they are committing to State Relays which will be held in Melbourne in mid December. If you cannot commit to both events, please do not enter into regions as there is nothing worse than excited team members having their team pulled out from a state event. We love seeing our kids happy and experiencing all that Little Athletics has to offer, and as Relays are the only team opportunity, we want to give our children the best experience possible!

Our centre times this year, are as follows, our start time is 4:15 arrival, we understand not all families can be at the track by this time,we do ask that all families try to be on site, where possible and ready for the centre warm up and President’s welcome for a 4:30 start. We all love our Friday nights and our nights run much smoother when we are ready to go on time. (It also means our families are not having a late night tea for late finishes!!!)

This year our canteen will run (When there is Parent helper support available) we will have drinks, Icy Poles and occasionally a BBQ available.

Please consider supporting our centre by purchasing from us, as the money raised goes directly back to the centre for purchasing important equipment upgrades.

Our fees are based on Little Athletics Victoria charges ($89 per athlete) plus costs to run the centre, ( Line marking, insurance, watering, equipment cost, utilities, hire agreements etc) while we understand that this cost can be expensive for some families,we feel that by offering a 15 week season and with the newly purchased uniforms, (That are at no cost to families unless damaged or destroyed.) We offer great value for money!

As a centre we are all volunteers, we NEED parent help to see our nights run smoothly. Please do not feel intimidated by being asked to help out at an event, we love seeing parents get involved almost as much as our kids love seeing us enjoying and experiencing sport with them! If you can please consider offering your support with your child’s group or at events where possible, it will help the night go quicker and events run smoother.

Should any parent have any concerns or queries ALL event coordinators have access to UHF radios to facilitate support where needed, we also have protocols and policy’s that help to support any issues that may arise.
